Purrs & Gurrs
Terms and Policies

Purrs & Gurrs main priority is your pets’ happiness, health, and well-being. And also, how they look!

That's why we have policies and procedures in place to assist with caring for your pets. We look forward to having them with us for a day of pampering!

By signing the official service agreement at the time of booking or check-in, you acknowledge and agree to our Terms and Policies.

Before you make a reservation and leave your pet with us, we want to make sure you are aware of the following:

Rabies Vaccination Policy (Required)

For the safety of our staff, other pets, and to comply with Indiana Department of Health regulations, all dogs and cats over 4 months old must have a valid and up-to-date rabies vaccination certificate to receive services at Purrs & Gurrs.

What’s Required: This can be texted, emailed or physically brought in.

Official rabies vaccination certificate that includes:

  • Pet and owner information

  • Vaccination date

  • Expiration date

Exceptions: Only accepted with a signed exemption letter from a licensed veterinarian.

Client Responsibility:

  • You must provide current rabies documentation to become a client.

  • You are responsible for submitting updated records after each rabies booster.

Medical Release

We are committed to making each visit as safe, comfortable, and stress-free as possible.

While every precaution is taken to ensure your pet’s safety, please note that grooming can, on rare occasions, expose hidden medical issues or aggravate existing conditions.

To help us provide the best care:

  • Please inform us of any known physical or medical concerns prior to the grooming appointment.

In the event of a medical emergency while your pet is in our care, we request your permission to seek immediate veterinary treatment—at your expense—if deemed necessary for your pet’s health and safety.

Pet Injury Policy

Our team is highly trained and dedicated to providing a gentle, stress-free grooming experience. However, because grooming involves sharp tools and close handling, accidents—though rare—can happen.

In the Event of a Grooming Accident:

  • If your pet is accidentally injured during their appointment (e.g., nicks, cuts, clipper irritation), we will:

  • Immediately inform you of the incident.

  • Take full responsibility for the injury. Provide or cover the cost of reasonable veterinary care, if necessary and directly related to the grooming incident.

  • Document the incident and follow up with you to ensure your pet is recovering well.

Please notify us of any pre-existing conditions, behavioral sensitivities, or health concerns prior to your appointment so we can tailor our approach to your pet’s unique needs.

However, if you notice an injury after returning home and were not notified, it is likely that your groomer did not observe the injury during the grooming process.

Please contact Purrs & Gurrs management right away so that:

  • We can ensure your pet receives the appropriate care or veterinary attention, if needed and it was determined it was caused by grooming.

  • We can thoroughly investigate the incident.

  • If appropriate, we will take corrective action with the team member involved to ensure it does not happen again.

Health Concern & Senior Dog Policy

Grooming can be physically and emotionally stressful, particularly for elderly pets or those with pre-existing health issues.
In some cases, grooming may aggravate existing conditions or expose previously unknown medical concerns, either during or after the appointment.

Because these pets are at a higher risk for stress or injury, we will groom them with a focus on comfort, safety, and cleanliness, rather than perfection. We will not compromise your pet’s health to achieve a specific grooming style.

To help us provide the best care possible:

  • Pet owners must disclose all known medical, physical, or emotional issues, including:

  1. Prior surgeries

  2. Hip/joint problems

  3. Skin conditions, ear infections, or sensitivities

  4. Warts, moles, tumors, or other abnormalities

  • Owners must also inform us of any new conditions as they arise.

Purrs & Gurrs cannot be held responsible for accidents or complications that may occur during grooming due to a pet’s age or health status.

When signing this agreement, the owner gives permission to groom their senior or health-compromised pet and confirms that they have disclosed all relevant medical history, both past and present.

Flea & Tick Policy

If a pet shows visible signs of fleas or ticks, an additional $12 fee will be applied for a Flea & Tick bath.

Please note the following:

  • The Flea & Tick bath is a temporary, non-preventative treatment.

  • It is designed to kill adult fleas and ticks present at the time of grooming, offering short-term relief only.

  • While the shampoo may help reduce the development of flea eggs and larvae, this effect is not guaranteed and should not be relied on as a long-term solution.

Grooming Satisfaction Policy

The team makes every effort to accurately interpret your grooming instructions and provide a result you'll love.
All grooming services are performed with your pet’s comfort, safety, and tolerance as our top priorities.

While we strive to deliver your desired grooming outcome, please understand that factors such as coat condition and pet temperament may limit what can safely be accomplished.

Your satisfaction is important to us. If you are unhappy with your pet’s groom:

  • You have 24 hours to contact Purrs & Gurrs management to discuss the groom and see if adjustments can be made.

  • After 24 hours, any adjustments will be considered a new service and may incur an additional grooming fee.

Cancellation/No Show Policy

At Purrs & Gurrs, we dedicate time and resources to prepare for each scheduled appointment to ensure exceptional service.

To help us maintain efficient scheduling, please observe the following:

  • 24-hour notice is required for cancellations

  • Failure to provide adequate notice may result in the requirement of a non-refundable deposit to book future appointments. This deposit will be applied toward the cost of the groom.

Not showing up for an appointment without calling will result in a deposit being required for future appointments.

* Please note: We understand that life happens—extenuating circumstances will always be taken into consideration.

If you're unsure, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Late Arrival Policy

Punctuality helps us provide the best possible experience for all pets in our care.

  • All clients are given a 15-minute grace period for drop-off.

  • Arrivals more than 15 minutes late will incur a $25 late fee, if your stylist is still able to accommodate your pet.

  • If your stylist’s schedule does not allow for a late start, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

Pet Pick-Up Policy

At Purrs & Gurrs, we operate on a schedule that ensures all pets are cared for in a clean, calm, and timely manner.

To help us maintain this standard, please follow our pick-up guidelines:

  • Pets must be picked up within 2 hours of receiving the pick-up text, or within 6 hours of their original appointment time.

  • If a pet remains in our care beyond the allotted time, a $10 per pet kenneling fee will be applied.

  • ❗All pets must be picked up by 4:30 PM to allow time for proper cleaning and facility sterilization.

  • Pets picked up after 4:30 PM will incur a $1 per minute late fee.

Overnight Boarding Policy

If a pet is not picked up by 5pm, your pet will be boarded safely at our facility.

A $40 overnight boarding fee will be charged, in addition to any applicable kenneling fees incurred earlier in the day.
