Purrs & Gurrs
Cat Grooming Policies and Release Form
Thank you for choosing Purrs & Gurrs for your cat's grooming needs. Please read the following policies carefully. Your cat's safety, health, and comfort are our top priority here at Purrs and Gurrs grooming.
General Grooming Policy
All grooming services at Purrs & Gurrs will be performed with your cat’s comfort and tolerance in mind. While we always strive to achieve your desired grooming outcome, factors such as coat condition and your cat's temperament may limit what can safely be accomplished.
Grooming must be done quickly and precisely, as cats have a low tolerance for extended handling. This means that haircuts may not always appear perfect or what you desired —but our main goal is to ensure that your cat is clean, comfortable, and safe. We will always do our best to meet your expectations within those limits.
Stress & Safety
Cats are creatures of habit and often experience stress when outside their home environment. While we take every precaution to minimize stress, grooming—even when gentle—can cause anxiety. Even if your cat has frequented our grooming facility before, temperaments and reactions can change.
If at any point your cat becomes too stressed to safely continue, all grooming will be stopped immediately, and you will be contacted. You will be responsible for paying for services that were able to be done.
Health Conditions & Grooming Risks
By signing the official service agreement at the time of booking or check-in, you agree and understand the following:
1. Senior Cats & Pre-existing Conditions:
-
Grooming elderly cats or those with existing health problems is done at the owner's risk. Grooming may reveal underlying skin or health issues for which Purrs & Gurrs cannot be held responsible. Elderly cats are also at a higher risk for nicks and cuts, especially during shaving.
2. Dematting & Shaving:
-
Removing mats may result in patchiness, hair loss, or visible skin conditions. Shaving mats require cutting close to the skin, which may expose or worsen existing issues. Severe matting or fecal soiling will incur additional surcharges based on severity and time required. Matted shave downs can result in uneven and patchy haircuts.
3. Requested Styles Not Guaranteed:
-
Requested styles (e.g., Lion Trim, Comb Cut) may not be completed if your cat’s temperament or health prevents it. This is in the best interest of your pet’s safety. You will still be responsible for payment of services rendered, even if the final groom differs from what was originally discussed.
Because we care about your pet’s safety and well-being, we make every effort to ensure their grooming experience is as pleasant as possible.
By signing the official service agreement at the time of booking or check-in, I acknowledge and agree:

I have read and understood the above policies.

I accept the risks involved in grooming and give Purrs & Gurrs permission to proceed with services deemed necessary for my pet’s health and comfort.
-
I understand that grooming results may vary based on my cat’s coat condition, temperament, and overall health.
