Permission to Shave: I authorize Purrs & Gurrs and its staff to shave down my pet to remove matted fur, understanding this is in the pet’s best interest.

Risks Involved: I understand that matted coats can hide underlying skin conditions, sores, or injuries. Shaving may reveal or cause minor cuts, nicks, redness, irritation, or bleeding due to close contact with the skin. Removing a matted coat runs the risk of nicks, cuts or abrasions of warts, moles and skin folds that may be trapped or hidden in the matted coat. Matting can also trap moisture near the pet’s skin allowing fungus or bacteria causing skin irritations that exist prior to the grooming process. I understand these risks and Purrs & Gurrs will not be held responsible for effects resulting from the necessary shaving process.

Medical Follow-up: I understand that if any medical concerns are observed during the grooming process, they will be noted and I may be advised to consult a veterinarian. However, Purrs & Gurrs  is not a veterinary service and does not diagnose medical conditions.

Appearance: I understand that shaving a matted coat may result in an uneven or patchy appearance and that regrowth may take several weeks to months.

Behavioral Risk: I understand that if my pet is severely stressed, aggressive, or poses a safety risk, grooming services may be stopped, and I will be contacted.

Release of Liability: I release Purrs & Gurrs, its owners, employees, and contractors from any liability or responsibility arising from the condition of my pet’s coat prior to grooming and any effects resulting from the necessary shaving process.
